these are the basic slists and descriptions for the new skills on
the two subclasses of Kender that Roshi and I devised. It is not as big of a
change as drow is going to be, but I figured that the differentiation
between assassins and rogues would make kenders more interesting. Rogues
are the city thieves, but with a mild ranger twist. Think world experienced
thieves here. Assassins are.. well. assassins.
Okay, That's about everything I have for these two, lead in wise. Other
then the skill streetwise, I do not see anything that you may draw exception
too, and anything else you need, I/you can tweak as necessary. We took out
probably 1/3 of the original slist, and added a total of 6 new spells/skills
between the two sub classes. All I ask is that you redress any grievances
to me before changing, so I can try to fix them for you. I will work on the
elvish races next, I daresay. Those will take longer than one night, but I
will have them in to you ASAP.

barter (skill)- attempt to see an item for a higher price, or buy one for a
lower price. If this fails, the item will be bought for 50% value or sold
for 150% value. Cost +/- affected by level. Maximum gain/loss is +/-33%..
If they attempt to cheat the system by not having enough gold, all gold will
be taken, and a timed flag for not being able to buy from any shopkeeper for
70 mud hours.
hunt (skill)- exact copy of avian skill track, with one change. This skill
would only work within the area you are in. (ex: track Arthur would ONLY
work if you are in Camelot.)
Streetwise (skill)- This allows a thief to get in touch with the underground
of the city of Calathar once each day, to receive a stipend of gold. Max
gold is level X 750. Skill fails, and the thief is forced to pay the guild
of thieves level X 500 gold.
Haymaker (skill)- Think roundhouse. This is to balance out the lowering of
dual to 18 for the assassins, and the loss of third attack. The goal is to
make both sub classes around equal power. This should be less powerful then
roundhouse, but perhaps without as much round lag.

of damage capability.

Old kender suggestions from Stormwarden
Plain and simply, there's not enough different about this proposal to make it worth doing. I think Kenders are sorely in need of some rethinking. They pretty much rely on backstab and hoping their tainted weapon hits. I hold the same viewpoint for the current dwarves.
The biggest change I see here is the ease of getting gold. While fitting the idea of a rogue, it doesn't really add much to the gameplay.
Ambidexterity is cool, but it just results in not having to wield your mage masher first.
Haymaker is the only addition of a skill that does anything.
