Upon her arrival at the field, Leiland’s final hopes were dashed. Her mommy and daddy were not there. Crying and feeling helpless she laid down in the soft sweet smelling field of grass and flowers. Tears continued to stream down her cheeks uncontrollably. One by one butterflies came and floated on the air just above her, gently bathing her with air from the beating of their wings. Soon there were dozens, even hundreds of butterflies surrounding the crying child. They seemed to be trying to lead her toward something. Leiland followed the fluttering butterflies, she knew that if anyone could help her they would. They led her to the slope where her parents had fallen, they stopped her before she too fell. Leiland could see them, and started to cry. She wanted to help them out, but she was to small. She then thought she could go to town for help, but town was so far, and she so small. Leiland started crying in ernest now, for what was she to do?

The butterflies started surrounding her, building something about her it seemed. More continued to arrive, hugged in their embrace Leiland suddenly felt comforted and at peace. She was no longer frightened, she trusted her winged friends. Hours went by with the butterflies furiously building the cocoon. Leiland was completely covered by it.

After what seemed an eternity, the cocoon started to shake. It shook until it burst open releasing young Leiland. However Leiland was not the same toddler she had been the day before when the cocoon had swallowed her. After being inside it for only twenty-four hours, she had aged dramatically. She was at least 14 or maybe 16 now by the looks of  it, and lovely wings had grown from her back. They were marked just like butterfly wings, with vivid colors of the rainbow. Leiland quickly fluttered her new wings and flying down the edge of the slope, saved her darling parents one at a time. They were so amazed by her new self they simply didn’t know what to say.
