Sheesh, SoulDrake, why must you contradict yourself? Spells (which are not living thinking creatures) have some sort of nature that can be evil? Energy Drain is evil in nature, regardless of its use? The INTENT of fireball is not to warm one's self. The INTENT of fireball is to harm someone. What ha...

No. The One Ring was part of Sauron, not just some random evil power. It was his evil will that made the ring, and so the ring was unique because it was linked to an evil creature's soul. There is nothing that suggests that the magical energy used to create Energy Drain is any different from any oth...

I am not saying that all spells should make someone evil. I am saying that if we choose to start making spells affect alignment, then let's balance it out. Since we have damage spells, then there are healing spells to balance out. One takes away hp, the other gives it. One spell takes away alignmen...

We often talk about balance. "If one thing does it, then all things should do it". I hope you meant that in jest... Heal cures hitpoints, all spells should cure hitpoints. Fireball causes damage, all spells should cause damage... I am not saying that all spells should make someone evil. I am saying ...

The only useful thing I see is for personalized quest prizes, and that isn't such a big deal. Yeah, waiting for an imm to personalize your starsword to one of your alts can be a little frustrating, but hardly a serious matter. I'm not against the idea. In fact, I think it would have some small conve...

It's been made clear that "help apostrophe" will remain as it is. That's the only one I don't like, among those I've seen so far. I wasn't the one who first suggested adding more grammar help files, but if there are more going in, then I would be happy enough to be the one to write them. My help fil...

It's fantasy. We don't need mana to cast spells in real life either. Point is that drunkness makes a person slang the word and not spell it wrong. If what you're saying is true, Stars, then alcohol should give dwarves and humans more incentive than magic users. Magic users should have meditate for ...

My point was always that the way that drunken speech works right now is a jarring break of the suspension of disbelief that makes mudding so much fun. I don't want to be reminded that the characters in BR don't really exist. If we want to make this "real", then let's add some real realism to alcoho...

How about adding a "neutral" school of magic, one that doesn't belong to any of the other elemental schools? Professions seem an awful lot like classes. I'm not against the idea, as long as the races retain their unique qualities. I definately think something should be done to liven things up around...
